Master of Biomedical Science students may choose one of NEUR90009, NEUR90011 or NEUR90013 (12.5 pts) as a discipline-based elective. To apply please download the Master of Biomedical Science subject selection form.The application deadline is mid-February 2019, please apply ASAP.

Program Overview

The University of Melbourne launched a new interdisciplinary Neuroscience PhD program in 2018. The program brings together doctoral candidates from across the University of Melbourne.

The Melbourne Neuroscience PhD Program (MNPP) delivers an internationally competitive, integrated and interdisciplinary student experience beyond the core thesis project. With close mentoring and a breadth of initiatives, this experience will provide candidates with the opportunity to become accomplished graduate researchers who are not only prepared scholastically, but are equipped to effectively engage with industry, and have cultivated communication and personal skills that will optimise their graduate career outcomes.

In order to bring students a truly interdisciplinary student experience beyond the core thesis, we have assembled a diverse array of educational programs from across several Faculties and many departments of the University of Melbourne to ensure students have access to the very best that postgraduate neuroscience education has to offer.

Advanced Neuroscience Workshops

A series of advanced, hands-on workshops for PhD students are offered. These workshops will offer students the opportunity to develop skills in key areas that they, with the support of their supervisor, identify to be directly related to their research project. Each program has been designed by the Workshop Leader to provide a comprehensive, small group experience.
